Our company history begins in 1902, when Mr F.J.A.M. van der Ven got interested in Magnesite and ordered a shipment of 50 tons from Greece. This was the first step to what today is the MAF Group, where MAF stands for Magnesiet en Amaril Fabrieken (Magnesite and Emery Factories). Ever since its foundation, MAF Group has remained a privately owned family business. Our focus is on contract grinding of a range of ores and minerals far beyond magnesia and emery.
Next we are involved in trading activities to business partners all over the world. When celebrating our 110th anniversary, Mr Ewald van der Ven, CEO said: "Although our activities cover a wide range of fields, which do not always form a coherent whole, we have some common aim: a satisfied client. This was our principle in the past and will remain to be so in the future. We will make every effort to continue to meet this objective.
During many years we have gained a lot of know-how and experience in our organization, which we always apply to be at your service. The trust that you have put in us the almost hundred years of our existence has been of immense value and we cherish it every day. We are grateful to you for this and it motivates us enormously to continue in the same way". Read more about the first century of the MAF Group in our timeline:
